I've just discovered this wonderful podcast. They are working through the stories in chronological order. Each one gets a summary and then a discussion of the story's themes and background. It is intelligent, meticulously researched & very, very funny! If you're already a fan then this is a must listen. If you're not then this is a fantastic way in to the Gentleman of Providence's work.

Bloody hell, it's cold. Yes, I know everybody is thinking it. Hat, gloves, scarf, hiking socks, fleecy jumper, and the nice waterproof jacket, and I still regret being too asleep to remember the thermal base layer when getting dressed this morning.
Need tea. Medical requirement.

At risk of sounding like a facebook entry
Pogues+Moshpit=sheer joy festival.
In more detail:
went to the Pogues last night with Lo expectations. migrated to the middle and bounced. A lot. Found myself about 6 people from the front at one point - a surprise for me. Had a fabulous time.
Woman who joined to sing fairytale in new york was out of tune in a completely inappropriate way. shame really but it's a song that's been so played to death I really am not keen on it. they have to do it though. Thankfully it wasn't the very last song . My hips may be grumbling at spending 1.25 hrs as heavy duty shock absorbers, but they may just be responding to the serious massage treatment they got beforehand....
I do love a good bouncy gig.
